Fellowship Baptist Church of Cabot, Arkansas is growing and excited for our future as we continue to be a biblical, healthy, vibrant, and growing church. We are prayerfully seeking either one or two men as pastor(s) of youth and worship to join us in the next chapter of Kingdom work. Our preference is for one full-time person to serve in dual roles, but God may show us a need for two individuals to fill the roles. Now, about the position and areas of emphasis:

Spiritual

  • A Christian who demonstrates the fruits of the Spirit, is growing in faith, and committed to Bible study and prayer.
  • Meet the biblical qualifications of a church leader set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
  • Have a commitment to moral purity.
  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing personal relationship with Him expressed by ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, confession, and fellowship.
  • One who shares his faith regularly.
  • One who promotes church growth through outreach, evangelism, and personal invitations.
  • If married, one who lead his household well. Having his wife and children in submission in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9 and Ephesians 5:22-24.

Professional

  • A leader should possess a desire to lead well. A leader should strive to lead in all areas of their life. No matter how experienced or inexperienced a leader is, ongoing education is critical to continual growth as a leader. If a leader is not growing, he is regressing. Every leader should consistently seek ongoing education. Ongoing education could include but is not limited to, educational Christian books and/or materials. The SBC and the NPBA can provide such material. Ongoing education does not necessarily mean school or college.
  • Promote the unity, direction and vision of the church by participating in staff and leadership meetings.
  • Adhere to Constitution and Bylaws of Fellowship Baptist Church
  • Be under oversight of Senior Pastor
  • Welcome input from church members, and be transparent in all actions
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree, or pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, preferably ministry related (For Youth Pastor)
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and other job-related software (i.e. AV, multimedia, presentation software)

Personal

  • Have a love and dedication for FBC, striving to promote unity and spiritual growth within the church
  • Personal sense of calling from God into ministry
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Faithfully support the church financially through tithes and offerings.
  • Organized, prepared, punctual, proactive, self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Thrives within a team environment, with the pastoral staff, the deacons, church staff, administrative team and church volunteers
  • Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision; flexible to changes in procedures and/or direction

Youth Pastor Specific Duties

  • Provide vision and leadership for youth department, grades 7 through 12
  • Invest and engage relationally with youth
  • Promote an environment where students feel connected to each other as a church family,   where each student is valued and loved
  • Ensure safe and healthy classroom/small group environments
  • Communicate regularly with parents
  • Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of student ministry areas
  • Plan and conduct activities and programs appropriate for spiritual growth of the youth within the church including Sunday School, Sunday Night, and Wednesday Night Bible Study, weekend events/retreats and Camp
  • Work with senior pastor to choose/develop curriculum used
  • Set, attain, evaluate, modify short-term and long-term goals to grow the youth department
  • Study and prepare Bible lessons for youth classes
  • Be present and participate in outreach programs of the church
  • Educate, encourage, and facilitate youth to participate in evangelical and missional outreach.
  • Familiarity with social media tools and their use for ministering to youth
  • Coordinate and implement an annual student ministry budget proposal, and administer that budget as approved by the Finance Committee
  • If married, have a wife who shares in the call to youth ministry and willing to serve alongside

Worship Pastor Specific Duties

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate the worship services, with a focus on providing a biblical, God-honoring worship experience in concert with the senior pastor
  • Work collaboratively with the pastor, instrumentalists, vocalists, and AV technicians to ensure all worship services are organized and executed in a seamless, harmonious manner well in advance of the day of the performance
  • Recruit and prepare praise and worship team
  • Work with senior pastor to plan and execute worship services
  • Set, attain, evaluate, modify short-term and long-term goals for the worship ministry that align with the vision and mission of FBC.
  • Provide a worship service that incorporates both contemporary and traditional music that is blended together and compliments each other
  • Lead the congregation during Sunday morning worship services, as well as other events such as VBS, revivals, funerals etc., if requested.
  • Coordinate practice times with the instrumentalists, vocalists, and AV technicians
  • Recruiting, auditioning, and teaching musicians in the church to serve the congregation as a team with musical skill and humility
  • Maintain the church music library (music materials, supplies, musical instruments, and other related issues that pertain to the music ministry and worship in general)
  • Coordinate and implement an annual worship ministry budget proposal, and administer that budget as approved by the Finance Committee
  • Update and maintain CCLI licensing and required duties per contract
