Fellowship West is stepping into a defining season—and we’re looking for the right leader to help shape it.

We’ve recently moved into a 66,000-square-foot facility on nearly 20 acres in one of the fastest-growing and most strategic areas in the Kansas City region—the Legends. Surrounded by constant traffic from dining, shopping, Bass Pro, Sporting Kansas City, and the future home of the Kansas City Chiefs, our church sits in the middle of a mission field that is growing every day.

Within a 20-mile radius, over 1.1 million people live—and according to the North American Mission Board, nearly 80% do not claim to follow Jesus. That’s hundreds of thousands of kids and families who need the hope of the Gospel.

We believe reaching them starts with investing in the next generation. That’s why this role matters so much.

This isn’t just a position to maintain a ministry—it’s an opportunity to build something that will impact generations. Our new facility includes an 1,100-seat auditorium, a dedicated kids wing, and a full gym—giving you the space and support to create environments where kids love church and clearly hear the Gospel.

We are looking for a Kids Pastor/Director who is ready to lead with vision, build strong teams, and partner with families to help kids know and follow Jesus.

About the Role
The Kids Pastor/Director provides spiritual leadership, vision, and oversight for all children’s ministry environments (birth–5th grade). This role exists to help children know Jesus, equip parents as primary disciplers, and build a healthy, thriving volunteer culture—all aligned with our mission: Share Jesus. Disciple Believers. Love People.

This role is built around three key priorities:

1. Connect with Kids (Discipleship & Environment)
Create environments where kids can’t wait to come back—and where the Gospel is clear.
* Teach and oversee engaging, biblically sound, age-appropriate content
* Handle God’s Word with clarity, accuracy, and passion (2 Timothy 2:15)
* Build environments that are fun, safe, clean, and intentional
* Ensure every child feels known and valued
* Develop clear next steps for salvation, baptism, and discipleship

2. Connect with Parents (Partnership & Influence)
Equip and empower parents as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.
* Build trust and meaningful relationships with families
* Communicate clearly and consistently
* Provide tools to disciple kids at home
* Be visible, accessible, and engaged before and after services
* Create meaningful moments that help families grow in faith

3. Connect with Volunteers (Leadership & Culture)
Build and lead a team that loves serving and is growing spiritually.
* Recruit, train, and onboard new volunteers
* Develop leaders and create a leadership pipeline
* Provide clear expectations, coaching, and support
* Foster a culture of encouragement, ownership, and growth
* Maintain strong systems for scheduling and communication
