FBC Charlestown is receiving resumes for youth pastor from now until July 31, 2022. 

Job Description: This will be a salaried exempt position reporting directly to the lead pastor. The primary role will be to oversee, develop and coordinate a comprehensive evangelistic discipleship ministry for students from 6th-12th Grade. Everything will be geared toward reaching students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matt 19:14), and helping them grow up into maturity into the fullness of Christ (Eph 4:13), while equipping them to be disciple makers.  The associate pastor will also serve as a member of the ministerial staff using their gifts and talents to assist the church in their overall mission to reach people far from Christ and help them grow up into maturity into the fullness of Christ.


  • Testimony of personal salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ
  • Baptized by immersion and a growing personal walk with the Lord.
  • Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a statement of belief and has a solid biblical foundation.
  • Meets the Biblical qualifications of a pastor
  • A heart for evangelism with a commitment to being a disciple that makes disciples
  • Loves and has fun working with youth along with a passion for reaching them with the Gospel and experience teaching them spiritual truth
  • Wants to equip parents with tools to help them disciple their children
  • Ability to train and recruit volunteers
  • Willing to think outside the box and try new things and create a fun environment for youth
  • Successful completion of a background check

Responsibilities Associate Pastor

  • Regularly involved in covering our church in prayer
  • Participate in weekly Staff Meetings to help with shepherding and implementing overall vision
  • Participate in monthly Deacons Meeting
  • Involved in intentional disciple making relationships with youth/adult volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Overseeing the assimilation and discipleship of Youth and Families
  • Serve as the primary teacher for the youth ministry
  • Recruitment and training of volunteers for youth ministry
  • Regular Communication with parents on upcoming activities and/or providing resources for family discipleship
  • Oversee all youth discipleship programs
  • Regularly Meeting with youth for Bible Study
  • One-on-one discipleship or counseling with students
  • Plan summer camp, retreats, & other events throughout the year with at least one large event a quarter
  • Coordinate fundraising for youth camp and or mission trips

Additional Preferred Skills Missions

  • Coordinate at least one church-wide US based or international mission trip per calendar year
  • Coordinate fundraising for missions trips
  • Plan and facilitate info sessions for trips and involve church in mission opportunities

Gifted Communicator/Preacher

  • Ability to preach to church body regularly (Goal 6-12 times a year)


  • Ability to oversee tech ministry and volunteers
