Senior Pastor Full Time

Position Summary: 

The Senior Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the church and community. He will provide administrative oversight, visionary leadership, and most importantly, spiritual direction and pastoral care for our congregation, 

The Senior Pastor is ultimately accountable to God as well as our congregation. He maintains a working relationship with our Executive Committee, Deacon Body, Personnel Committee, and various other committees to provide structure for the success of sharing the Gospel. 

Responsibilities: 

·        Provide biblical instruction through preaching and teaching the Word of God as inspired by the Holy Spirit.

·        Lead, equip, and empower other leaders through prayer, discipleship, and spiritual growth. 

·        Equip the congregation to do the work of ministry. 

·        Provide pastoral care, counseling, visitation, and support for members as needed. 

Administrative Leadership: 

·        Oversee the church’s strategic planning for the continuing fulfillment of FBC’s vision. 

·        Lead, support, and coordinate with church staff to advance the Gospel of Jesus through the mission and vision of the church. 

·        Partner with our Executive Committee, Deacon Body, and committees to ensure effective governance and decision making. 

·        Foster collaboration, trust, open communication, expediently address conflict, and create a positive workplace culture. 

Outreach, Evangelism, and Missions: 

·        Lead the church in our outreach efforts to our community and beyond. 

·        Provide guidance and support for mission programs and initiatives. 

·        Encourage, train, and equip the congregation to be engaging in personal evangelism. 

Community Engagement: 

·        Represent the church in community activities and civic matters. 

·        Foster ongoing relationships with local ministries and build relationships with other like-minded, local ministries

Qualifications:

Education:

·        At least a Master’s of Divinity or equivalent degree.

·        A minimum 10 years of ministry experience that demonstrates a progressive increase in responsibility leading to and including senior pastor experience.

Skills and Abilities:

·        Strong biblical knowledge and theological understanding.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Proven leadership and administrative abilities.

·        Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.

·        Compassionate and empathic pastoral skills
