Youth Minister Full Time

First Baptist Church is seeking its future Youth Minister.  FBCA is in a growing community with limitless potential, and the church is growing too!  It is a great time to enter a vibrant church and a growing community.  We are located just 1 hour from Houston, so you have access to many things to do. 

Youth Minister 

JOB DESCRIPTION Reports to: Lead Pastor/ (In absence personnel committee)
Works with: Ministerial Staff/Youth families and church as a whole. 
Primary Role: The primary role of the Youth Minister is to reach students with the Gospel and disciple them, strengthen families, and support the mission and vision of the church.

Employee Profile: Must have a love for the Lord and be biblically sound with a teacher’s heart. Be relatable and humble in your teachings and interactions with people.  Be dependable and show initiative in your job responsibilities.  Be enthusiastic about the message of Christ and all activities of the youth program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Be a Recruiter
– Seek out youth

– Enlist adult volunteers

– Promote a regular program of visitation of youth

– Train youth in outreach and evangelism

– Form a youth volunteer leadership team

Be a Teacher
– Promote spiritual growth of the youth and families

– Provide sound, biblical teaching for the youth

Be a Planner
– Lead in planning, promoting, and conducting activities (i.e.,     camps, DNOW, fun outings, on the grounds, etc.)

– Prepare an annual budget in cooperation with the relevant committees

– Administer budget according to church policies

– Meet regularly with Pastor/Staff for church planning

– Coordinate youth events in conjunction with church planning (i.e., VBS, local mission project, mission trips, etc.)

Be an encourager
         – Encourage student leadership

         – Encourage service in our youth ministry, church and

            community

         – Link youth to the mission and vision of the church

         – Lead youth to recognize the call of God on their life

Be a supporter
         – Offer parental and student support

         – Be available for biblical council as needed

         – Consult regularly with the Pastor

         – Perform duties assigned by the Pastor

         – Maintain open communication with the church staff, parents,

           volunteers and students.

         – Follow FBCA social media standards for effective church 

            leadership that supports rather than hinders it.

         – Respect and support the Pastor and all leaders and ministries

           of the church.

         – Follow the polices of the church for office hours, vacation 

           time, supply, etc.

Requirements: 

         – Be a born again, baptized believer.

         – Be in agreement with the FBCA doctrine, mission and vision.

         – Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but biblical knowledge and 

           youth ministry experience is a must.

         – Personal spiritual life congruent with biblical mandates for 

           leaders as in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

         – Good verbal and written skills of communication

         – Proven ability to work effectively with other individuals and 

           team of volunteers.

         – A personal sense of calling from God to ministry; specifically

           youth ministry.

This position is full-time and offers PTO (Vacation), Health, Life, and Dental is offered.
