Associate Pastor – Youth and Outreach

This position is Part Time-Negotiable, in consultation with each candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Youth Ministry
– Oversee the Student Ministry (grades 6 -12)
– Develop and lead a weekly student Bible study
– Plan, promote, and lead students on a yearly discipleship camp and missions opportunities.
– Work with Student Ministry volunteers in gathering students to a saving relationship with Christ and growing them to be disciples who make disciples.
– Plan and lead student activities.
– Connect with students and their families on a regular basis in their environment as possible: homes, schools, sporting events, etc.

Children’s Ministry
– Provide support to the Children’s Ministry (age 4 – 5th grade).
– Provide guidance to the Children’s Ministry volunteers.

Other Responsibilities
– Provide biblical support and guidance to families of children and youth.
– Provide leadership and implementation of FBC Bevil Oaks’ digital communications and social media engagement, through emails, social media posts, and website information.
– Participate in the outreach ministry of FBC Bevil Oaks.
– Develop a training program for FBC Bevil Oaks’ Bible study leaders, teachers, and ministry volunteers.
– Attend staff and leadership meetings as needed.
– Maintain a growing relationship with the Lord through daily Bible study and prayer.
– Maintain a proper priority at home, providing for personal physical, mental, and spiritual health of yourself and your family.
– Other ministry areas could be discussed, depending on individual giftings and background (ie. worship ministry, missions ministry, etc).

Qualifications
– Qualities described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 for a pastor.
– Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
– A desire to humbly shepherd God’s people.
– Strong writing and speaking skills (or in process of developing).
– An outgoing personality.
– Experience utilizing and engaging with various social media platforms.
– A bachelor’s degree and/or seminary training.
