Position: Part-Time Youth Pastor (~20 hours per week)
Compensation: $25,000 annually
Reports to: Pastor
Position Summary
The Part-Time Youth Pastor will be responsible for leading a Christ-centered youth ministry that fosters
spiritual growth, discipleship, and community engagement. Under the direction of the pastor and in
cooperation with the Youth Committee, the Youth Pastor will develop and implement a ministry that
encourages students to grow in their faith and live out the Gospel.
This position requires a commitment of ~20 hours per week, with flexibility to expand during special
events, camps, and outreach efforts.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
● Be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ with a mature and growing faith.
● Be at least 21 years of age.
● Be spiritually disciplined in Bible study, prayer, and Christian living.
● Have a passion for working with youth and the ability to connect with them effectively.
● Hold to Baptist doctrine and live a life of Christian integrity.
● Demonstrate leadership, organization, and communication skills.
● Have a strong desire to impact youth through Christian discipleship and moral values.
Primary Responsibilities (~20 hrs/week)
Weekly Core Responsibilities
Sunday
● Lead Youth Sunday School and participate in the worship service.
● Engage with students and build relationships before and after service.
Wednesday
● Lead midweek youth group, Bible study, or discipleship sessions.
● Facilitate small group discussions, mentoring, and prayer.Administrative & Outreach
● Plan lessons, events, and coordinate with the pastor and Youth Committee.
● Reach out to youth through calls, visits, or social media to encourage and disciple them.
● Maintain regular communication with parents and church leadership.
● Work on upcoming projects, scheduling, and event preparation.
Expanded Responsibilities
During special events, camps, mission trips, or outreach programs, additional hours may be required.
Special Events or Outreach
● Organize and lead youth involvement in retreats, mission trips, and service projects.
● Plan and oversee quarterly special events, such as Youth Week, Youth Sunday, or community
outreach.
● Attend church staff and council meetings to coordinate schedules and programs.
Administrative & Ministry Support
● Maintain a youth ministry budget in coordination with the church leadership.
● Submit a monthly report summarizing youth ministry activities and attendance.
● Ensure all activities align with church vision and biblical principles.
