Worship Pastor Full Time

First Baptist Lyman is seeking a Worship Pastor to join our team. Our church’s mission is to maintain a spirit of worship which glorifies God, promote Christian fellowship / growth, and to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.  

A musical background is required for this position, however a degree is not required. Our church’s main and senior choirs both include 20+ members, so ability to direct both is required.

Qualifications: 

• A clear and mature Christian faith.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Be a member in good standing of a church of like-faith and be willing to join in membership with First Baptist Lyman.
• A heart for worship and a desire to lead others in encountering God.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using presentation software such as PowerPoint or ProPresenter.
   

Responsibilities:

• Lead Sunday morning worship.
• Support the spiritual needs of the congregation as a pastoral staff member.
• Work closely with the pastor and other musicians to plan and execute worship services.
• Lead and participate in weekly rehearsals with the church’s choir(s).
• Collaborate with the tech team to ensure seamless execution of worship services.
• Plan and lead worship for special events, such as holiday services, conferences, nights of worship and outreach events.
• Prepare and present an annual budget for the operational needs of the music ministry to the Budget and Finance Team.
• Perform administrative tasks related to the worship ministry, such as scheduling, communication, and resource management.
• Perform all other duties as directed by the Pastor and/or Personnel Team.
