Purpose:
To reach kids for Christ so that they love God, love others, and live on mission.
Responsibilities:
o Cast the vision for a vibrant Children’s Ministry that will allow kids to experience God, (not just learn about Him) in a relevant and relational way.
o Provide leadership and training to Kids Ministry Staff team.
o Develop a dynamic children’s ministry leadership team and volunteers through providing resources and training and implementing appreciation strategies.
o Develop an active outreach and missions ministry to preschoolers, elementary children and their families.
o Plan, organize, staff, and coordinate engaging events for children and families (VBS, Camp, Fall Festival, Midweek, Etc).
o Train, staff and implement ministries to children with special needs and their families.
o Provide support and development for W.R.A.P. Ministry (Orphan Care)
o Be actively involved in local elementary schools
o Lead weekly chapel services for our campus school, Mount Juliet Christian Academy
o Develop and implement policies for the safety and security of children, including but not limited to effective use of check-in and check-out technology.
o Assist Preschool Coordinator in the planning and participation in parent/child dedication services and classes
o Hire, supervise, and train Children’s Ministry paid staff
o Facilitate the sharing of space with and help in the shepherding of MJCA Elementary children through speaking at chapels, counseling children on salvation and baptism.
o Help Facilitate the staffing for babies/preschool worship care and kids ministry during agreed upon church-wide events
o Use effective modes of communication including emails, Facebook, Twitter, mailings, etc. designed to keep families engaged and informed of current programs, projects, and opportunities.
o All other duties assigned
Qualifications
o Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by spiritual maturity and a close consistent walk with Him
o Strong Team player and builder who can help unify and inspire leaders.
o Supportive and engaging with senior pastor and all other ministerial and support staff.
o Embrace a vibrant vision for Children’s Ministry consistent with FBC Mt. Juliet mission statement.
o Commit to and support the theological and doctrinal stance of FBC Mt. Juliet and the Southern Baptist Convention
o University graduate, preferably with a complimentary major to enhance ministry to children; Seminary education or equivalent experience and training in Christian Education or within a ministry context
o Continue to study and grow in knowledge and practical ministry strategies current with culture, trends, and societal changes
o Love kids and grant grace in discipline
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Possess and demonstrate competency in current technologies
o Demonstrate strong conflict management and public relation skills
o Demonstrate flexibility and calm under pressure in changing and/or emergency situations

Full-time, exempt position, Pastoral Staff, Includes Benefits
Accountability
This position is under the overall supervision of the Senior Pastor.
