Music Minister Full Time

We are looking to fill our Music Minister role at our Southern Baptist church, and we are looking for candidates who are first and foremost dedicated to the fulfillment of the Great Commission outlined in Matthew 28:16-20 and is to be the leader of all thing’s music and worship. We believe that the candidate should feel that this position is their calling from God, that they should have the relevant education in music and worship studies, that they should have relevant knowledge and experience in working with sounds, music, and technology related to the worship of the church. The candidate should also know how to lead volunteers and other worship staff members and lead Biblically and spiritually.

Qualities and skills needed:

· A heart for the gospel and Jesus

· Relevant education and experience

· An engaging personality

· A passion for worship

· A passion for people and ability to aggressively recruit new musicians

· A heart of humility and joy

· Knowledge of classic hymns as well as new worship songs.

· The ability to read music and teach basic vocal skills

· Ability to lead both a contemporary (band, praise team, etc.) and a traditional (piano, organ choir) service

What you will be doing:

· Leading and facilitating the worship

· Leading other worship staff

· Actively engaging and promoting community within the church

· Working with other areas of ministry for worship events (Weddings, Funerals, etc.)

· Oversee equipment and logistics
