Bi-Vocational Worship Leader

I. Purpose of Position – The Worship Leader is responsible for the development, implementation, and promotion of a well-balanced music program for the church body.
 

II. Duties and Responsibilities
 

1. Plans, coordinates, and evaluates a comprehensive music program for the church.
2. Plans and directs the music portion of the worship gathering, revivals and special services.
3. Organizes and promotes a total music program.
a. Enlists and trains musicians and leaders.
b. Organizes and provided direction for a total worship team/choir program.
c. Organizes and provides direction for choral ensembles and soloists.
4. Cooperates with the pastor and the finance/budget committee by preparing the music program budget requirements for inclusion in the church budget.
5. In accordance with the church budget, coordinates and approves miscellaneous requests for music and promotional materials requested by personnel in the music program.
6. Directs the rehearsals and performances of the adult and youth teams/choirs.
7. Develops new and innovative concepts for enhancing the total music ministries of the church.
8. Coordinates the use of the audio/visual media department.
 

III. Supervisor Relationships – The Worship Leader works under the general supervision of the pastor. Since this is a bi-vocational position, additional guidance concerning church activities will be provided by the pastor as needed.
