Pastor of Discipleship, Families and Students Full Time

FBC Bushnell is a growing contemporary worship style, southern baptist church with an average service size of 275.  We are seeking a full-time Pastor of Discipleship, Families and Students that is willing to minister within the community and have a heart for youth and discipleship. 

Pastor of Discipleship, Families and Students

Reports to: Senior Pastor
Job Summary
Directs the church’s educational/discipleship ministry and oversees the youth ministry (grades 6–12). Serves under a divine call to ministry; conduct governed by the Minister-Church Covenant of Relationship.

Key Responsibilities
●      Plan, promote, and lead a well-balanced discipleship and student ministry program
●      Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer leaders
●      Build outreach to students and families, including into schools/community
●      Prepare and manage the youth ministry budget
●      Supervise student ministry volunteers; lead Student Ministry Team meetings
●      Counsel students and families; visit the sick; participate in church-wide outreach
●      Administer Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as directed

Qualifications
●      Committed Christian with a heart for youth salvation; able to teach the Gospel clearly
●      Agrees with and lives by The Southern Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and FBC Bushnell’s Doctrinal Statement/By-Laws
●      Seminary degree or 4+ years equivalent pastoral experience/training
●      Licensed and/or ordained by a Southern Baptist church
●      Physically able to lift 50 lbs, stand/bend/climb ladders; flexible day/night hours
