Principle Function: The primary responsibility of the Associate Pastor of Youth & Collegiate Ministries is the planning, directing, and coordinating of the Youth Ministry of the Church. The Associate Pastor works closely with the Youth Ministry Planning Team. In addition, the Associate Pastor will coordinate efforts to remain connected to the graduates of the youth ministry as they progress through either college or into a career path.
The Associate Pastor of Youth & Collegiate Ministries will cast vision and lead the student ministry (grades seven through twelve) and the collegiate ministry of First Baptist Church. They will develop, equip, and mobilize teams of adults that are responsible for serving in the various areas of youth and/or collegiate ministry. In addition, they will develop and execute a plan to communicate with and equip parents to be the primary disciple makers in the lives of their teens. The Associate Pastor of Youth & Collegiate Ministries will utilize existing ministries of First Baptist Church to engage the families of our community with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ while also considering youth and/or collegiate specific evangelistic events.
The Associate Pastor of Youth & Collegiate Ministries will have (or demonstrate the ability to develop):
· A confident testimony of salvation and a maturing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
· Strong relational skills with teens, collegiates, parents, volunteers, the Pastoral Team, and congregation of First Baptist Church Cameron.
· Experience in equipping and working with teams for the purpose of activating ministry opportunities.
· Excellent Bible teaching ability and communication skills (both oral and written).
· The ability to plan, schedule, organize, and delegate responsibilities related to the youth and collegiate ministries.
· The capability to develop and implement an age-appropriate Biblical strategy for evangelism and discipleship of teens and collegiates.
Our Preferences for Potential Candidates:
· Experience in youth ministry is preferred (but not required).
· A bachelor’s degree is preferred (but not required).
· A seminary degree is desired and will be encouraged as part of the Associate Pastor’s continued professional development.
· Ordination into the Gospel ministry is preferred (but not required).

The Associate Pastor of Youth & Collegiate Ministries will be compensated according to the budget established annually by the church. The Associate Pastor will be subject to the benefits of paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation leave as specified in the Personnel Policies of First Baptist Church Cameron.
First Baptist Church is in Cameron, Missouri which is 45 miles north of Kansas City, Missouri. The rural town of under nine thousand residents has the feel of a small town while it is close enough to Kansas City to enjoy a variety of recreational activities. For a candidate interested in extending their education, Kansas City is the home of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary which offers a variety of under-graduate and graduate-level degree programs. First Baptist Church was established in 1866 and continues to focus our efforts in sharing the Gospel with the lost and discipling the Christ-follower. The youth ministry has the potential to reach many students in the community and has a strong base of parent support and involvement.
