Pastor Part Time

First Baptist Church is starting our search for a head pastor. Being a small church, it will be a part time position and it will be a revitalization opportunity but the work has already begun. The church has grown from 6-8 on Sunday to 12-15 and we have been working on becoming healthier in both evangelism and discipleship. The church is in a fully residential area so we are surrounded by evangelism opportunities. We are looking for a pastor who will humbly lead and seek God’s will above all else.

The role of the pastor is described in the by-laws as follows:

The pastor shall preach the Word of God, lead the Church in its various ministries, seek and win lost souls to Christ and perform such other ministerial duties consistent with New Testament Christianity.  the Pastor shall recommend to the Church members a suitable candidate or candidates to fill any vacancies in the Church staff and supervise the work, assignment of duties and annual evaluation of the Church staff.  Pastor shall be the tiebreaking vote.  The Pastor shall serve as resources and advisors to all boards, committees and organizations of the Chruch and shall participate in deliberations as each board, committee and organization shall desire.
