ABOUT FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church in Universal City is church of about 1300 weekly of all ages. The northeast San Antonio area is growing tremendously, and the immediate area around the church includes multiple small towns very close in proximity. These 6 or 7 cities make up the vast majority of FBC’s membership.

FBC is committed to the compassionate, unashamed preaching and teaching of God’s Word. Expositional preaching is the norm. Worship services are modern, but also include a full choir and orchestra.

FBC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, sends 10% of total undesignated receipts to the Cooperative Program, and is currently aligned with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the San Antonio Baptist Association. FBC is also in the process of affiliating with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.

FBC is currently in a year of transition, with Pastor David Lindow retiring after 32 years on staff this coming October. At that time, Pastor Ryan Gilbert (currently Senior Pastor Elect) will become Lead Pastor of FBC. More info about FBCUC can be found by visiting fbcuc.org
