CHURCH PROFILE:

The First Baptist Church of Urbana is a church striving to reach our community with the message of Christ, offering our best worship, leading holy lives, and growing and maturing by applying God’s word and recognizing the Lordship and leadership of Christ Jesus.

First Baptist Church of Urbana is a church founded in 1869 in Dallas County, Missouri. We are a member of the Dallas County Association of Southern Baptists which is comprised of thirteen Southern Baptist Churches. We have a variety of services we offer on Sundays including Sunday School, Sunday Morning Worship and Sunday Evening Service. On Wednesdays we have a devotion and prayer meeting and Youth and Children’s Programs where we serve dinner. We have a yearly Vacation Bible School, an active WMU, Missions Committee, Benevolence Committee, and participate in Operation Christmas Child. We are active in our community and support the City of Urbana and area school districts.

We currently have over three hundred resident members but our average attendance on Sunday mornings is currently fifty-five. We currently have all age groups attending including toddlers to senior citizens. Our church grounds include two acres with a Fellowship Hall built in 2004,  a Sanctuary built in 2009, and additional Sunday School rooms added in 2016. We have a youth loft with games and activities for the youth. Our church leadership includes an Interim Pastor, two Deacons, Finance Committee, Clerk, Trustees, and various committees and other leaders.

Our plans for the future include increasing our church attendance and membership. We strive to do the Great Commission. We hope to add more programs, grow the current programs we have, and strive for new ways to reach the lost.
