Job Title: Contract Bookkeeper
Accountability: Reports to the Pastor and work closely with the Treasurer and Secretary of the church.  

Position Summary: We are seeking to contract a meticulous and knowledgeable Bookkeeper to manage our church financial records. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of QuickBooks and have experience in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and performing reconciliations. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial health and transparency of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Secure Documentation: Obtain and organize necessary financial documentation from the church and preschool departments and financial institutions.
Journal Entries: Accurately record financial transactions in QuickBooks, ensuring proper categorization and documentation.
Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Trial Balance Preparation: Prepare and review trial balances to verify the accuracy of financial data.
Report Generation: Produce and review financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and the FBC Excel Long form as requested by the Treasurer and/or the pastor to be presented during FBC of Wahiawa’s business meetings and other occasions. 
Verify Totals: Verify and confirm the accuracy of financial totals and ensure they align with documentation and reports.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Pastor and Treasurer to address any financial issues, provide insights, and ensure compliance with church financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a non-profit or church environment.
QuickBooks Expertise: In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks, including experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, church members, and external stakeholders.
Ethics: High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
