Pastoral Opportunity: First Baptist Church, Petersburg, Alaska
First Baptist Church (FBC) of Petersburg is seeking a full-time shepherd to lead our congregation into a new season of growth. Founded in 1970, we are a Christ-centered community of believers dedicated to loving God and connecting our neighbors to Jesus. FBC Petersburg is a member of the Alaska Baptist Convention/Alaska Baptist Resource Network. We are currently a maturing congregation with a deep desire to reach younger generations and families in our community.

Leadership Legacy: Since our constitution, FBC has experienced the leadership and care of four pastors. Our current pastor looks forward to retirement but remains dedicated to our church family, planning to stay through the selection process and the arrival of the new pastor to offer a season of supportive transition.
New Parsonage: As part of this preparation, we are in the final phases of completing a new 3-bedroom, 2-bath parsonage (estimated completion June 1, 2026).

The Environment: A stunning coastal rainforest with world-class hiking, fishing, and kayaking.
Amenities: Our island features a medical clinic, highly-rated K-12 schools, a modern library, and a community center with a pool and gym.
Logistics: Accessible by Alaska Airlines or ferry. While costs are roughly 15% higher than Seattle, the tight-knit community and outdoor accessibility make it a wonderful home.
