Student Minister Full Time

Church Summary

First Baptist Church Rowlett is a rapidly growing, multi-ethnic church focused on connecting people to God and others. In 2024, we constructed a new campus directly across from Rowlett High School. Our student ministry is growing rapidly, with an average attendance of over 150-200 students. We are seeking a high-capacity, relational student minister who can effectively lead multiple staff members, disciple students, and equip families.

Position Summary   

Leads the student ministry of FBC Rowlett to make disciples of students in 6-12th grades. Oversees Sunday morning student ministry connect groups, Wednesday night youth worship services, discipleship, events, camps, and all student programming.

Time Commitment   

Full-time; Exempt

Education/Experience  

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
3+ years related experience

Responsibilities and Duties

• Pastoral
  • Prepare relevant, age-appropriate messages for the students
  • Reach out to first-time guests through calls and letters
  • Make hospital visits and on call
  • Attend school performances, lunches, and special events.
• Outreach
  • Share the hope of Christ with lost and un-churched students
  • Share the Gospel and teach from God’s Word
  • Strategize how to be the most effective in our given mission field
  • Reach out to the community
• Discipleship
  • Build relationships
  • Teach God’s Word
  • Disciple students to spiritual maturity
  • Connect with students in everyday lives
  • Equip students to be missionaries and to find their God-given purpose
  • Minister to Adult Leaders and Parents
  • Pour the love of Christ into adult leaders and parents and build relationships
  • Partner with parents and work with them for the betterment of our students
  • Assist parents by giving them tools to reach their students
• Any other duties as assigned
