Full Time Worship/Youth Pastor First Baptist Church – Ruidoso

OVERVIEW First Baptist Church Ruidoso is seeking a musically-gifted, spiritually-mature, biblically-grounded Christian to lead all worship ministries and youth ministries (6th—12th grade) under the direction of the  Senior Pastor. The ideal candidate should have experience leading worship and shepherding worship teams as well as experience working with youth at a similar-sized church. The main purpose of the Worship Pastor’s position is to give honor, praise, and glory to God through Christ. The main purpose of the Youth Pastor is to invest relationally, leading youth to Christ and helping youth grow in Christ. Compensation and Benefits to be determined. WORSHIP PASTOR Responsibilities:

• Work with the Senior Pastor to plan and lead worship services.
• Lead all music ministries in the church. If available, help with weddings, funerals, and special projects upon request.
• Shepherd, train, manage, and care for the volunteer worship teams (with grace and flexibility).
• Develop an annual worship ministry budget and be able to work within that budget.
• Look for ways to inspire non-musical worship experiences for the church body.
• Oversee the church’s worship tech (Audio-Visual) ministry.
• When possible, Attend church staff meetings and retreats.
• Work with youth and children’s ministry leaders to find worship leaders for age-graded worship experiences within the church.
• Oversee the maintenance of all musical instruments owned by the church.

Requirements:

• Past experience leading worship in a similar church setting.
• Significant skill as a vocalist and instrumentalist.
• Broad knowledge of Christian worship music across multiple styles and generational tastes.  Traditionally, First Baptist Church, Ruidoso prefers a blend of hymns and contemporary praise songs.
• Should have experience leading and managing teams.
• Some formal training in music (and specifically church music) is preferred.
• A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
• Must be willing to submit to random drug testing at the will and expense of First Baptist Church Ruidoso.
• A calling to pastoral ministry.

YOUTH PASTOR Responsibilities:

• Pray for all FBCR students and the student ministry program regularly and facilitate a joyful and welcoming presence within the student ministry.
• Prioritize a ministry of relational presence, recognizing that the local school system and community is our primary mission field. This will be done by attending community and school events whenever possible, providing appropriate follow-up to first-time visitors and absentee students, and by being visibly available within the church and community.
• Provide leadership for all ministry programs including but not limited to Sunday School, small group Bible Study, Wednesday night worship, seasonal events, retreats, summer camps, and VBS.
• Teach and model spiritual discipline for students through personal spiritual growth, faithful attendance to church worship services/activities, and scriptural tithing.
• Foster a missional mentality among students by educating and providing both local and out-of-area mission opportunities.
• Implement programs to train, engage, and empower student leaders. Provide training resources, spiritual support and encouragement to the adult volunteers working within the student ministry. Provide training and encouragement opportunities for parents.
• Ensure clear communication to parents, students and leaders through all electronic, social and print media.
• Seek opportunities to partner with other local youth pastors for community-wide events and mission work.
• Develop and efficiently manage an annual student ministry budget that includes anticipated revenue and expenses for each event.

• Humble Disciple of Christ who is sensitive to the overall vision of First Baptist Church of Ruidoso. This person will play a vital role in the planning and execution of total church life ministry.
• Relationship builder who invests and spiritually nurtures students and their families to grow in their relationship with Christ.
• A Team Player who is willing to do other Pastoral duties (preaching, hospital or home visits, etc…)
• One who fully adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message.
• Multi-year experience in leading youth ministry in a church setting.
