ActiveUpon the retirement of our beloved pastor, we are prayerfully seeking a full-time Pastor to teach the word and minister to a multigenerational congregation. The position requires a full-time commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and as such must be of good Christian character and meet the qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
· Preaching and Worship: Plan and deliver sermons, lead Sunday services, and often coordinate with music staff to create a Christ-centered worship experience.
· Discipleship and Evangelism: Lead efforts to win the lost, disciple believers, and promote outreach within the community.
· Pastoral Care: Provide counseling, visit the sick and elderly in hospitals or homes, and offer guidance during times of crisis.
· Leadership and Administration: Supervise staff, work with deacons, and oversee the church organization, including budgeting and operations.
· Denominational Connections: Participate in local Baptist associations and represent the church in state (ABSC) conventions.

Smackover is a small community in south Arkansas with a population of 1,600 with an active downtown and business community, as well as an excellent public school system. We are located between El Dorado and Camden. Both are approximately 15-20 minutes away and have a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. FBC Smackover has a long history as a cornerstone of our community and draws members from El Dorado, Camden, and surrounding communities.
