FULL-TIME/PART-TIME WORSHIP LEADER
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH – SYLVANIA, GA

First Baptist Church of Sylvania, Georgia is a multi-generational church with a blended worship
style, incorporating both traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs in our worship
services. Our goal is to glorify God by engaging the hearts of our congregation in vibrant,
Christ-centered worship. Sylvania is located in southeastern Georgia, about an hour northwest
of Savannah and an hour south of Augusta.
First Baptist Church of Sylvania is seeking a qualified person of faith to become our new
Worship Leader. We are looking for someone with a passion for leading God’s people in
worship and fostering meaningful relationships within our caring church. Whether this position
is filled with a full-time or part-time person is dependent upon the qualifications of the
applicant, their availability and their fit as an ambassador of Christ. The compensation package
(including the use of a parsonage, if needed) will be commensurate with qualifications,
experience and availability.
Qualifications:
 A born-again believer with a calling to lead worship.
 Ability to read and understand music.
 Strong vocal skills (instrumental proficiency is helpful but not required).
 Be in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
 Organizational and team leadership skills
 Relational skills for working with staff and the congregation.
 Familiarity with sound and worship technology (such as ProPresenter, Planning Center
and OBS) is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities:
 Work with the pastor to plan and lead Sunday morning worship services.
 Lead and collaborate with the Worship Team and Adult Celebration Choir.
 Organize and participate in special musical events, including Christmas and Easter
cantatas.
 Encourage and develop the musical gifts and church members for ministry service.
