Office Manager

The Office Manager must be a growing Christ follower and a preferred member at FBC Taylor. This individual must be a person of high moral and spiritual integrity while demonstrating a solid biblical doctrine. Relational skills and the ability to interact with members and attendees is a key component for success.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. preferred
Previous experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit or religious organization setting.
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in financial software and spreadsheet applications.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and staff.

STAFF RELATIONSHIP:

The Office Manager is part of the FBC Taylor staff and is responsible to the Lead Pastor.

TEAM RELATIONSHIPS:

Finance Team

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain complete and accurate records of all church financial, employment and business transactions.
Assure that all financial, employment and business records and all transaction data are correctly, accurately and timely documented and maintained.
Accept other assignments as requested by the pastor.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to present to church leadership and other relevant stakeholders.

Budgeting: Develop and manage the annual budget in consultation with church leadership, ensuring that financial resources are allocated appropriately to support ministry activities and other church needs.

Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including receipts, invoices, and other financial transactions. Ensure that all financial records are organized and easily accessible for auditing purposes.

Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices and proper tracking of incoming funds.

Banking and Cash Management: Manage the church’s banking activities, including reconciling bank statements, overseeing cash flow, and optimizing cash management practices.

Compliance and Taxation: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax laws. Prepare and file necessary tax returns and documents, including those related to charitable contributions.

Financial Planning: Assist church leadership in making financial decisions, providing financial analysis and insights to support the planning and execution of various church initiatives.

Financial Controls: Implement internal financial controls to safeguard church assets and minimize the risk of financial mismanagement or fraud.

Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in salary calculations and compliance with employment regulations.

Financial Audits: Coordinate and assist with financial audits conducted by external auditors at least bi-annually.

Participate in staff meetings.
