Principle Function: The Next Generation Pastor  is to serve the church by developing, coordinating, and administrating an effective ministry to college students and young adults primarily ages 18-30 by providing leadership to and supervision of these ministries. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

A clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ with a call to ministry.

Meets qualifications for church leaders as found in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5.

Maintains a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable spirit, and a healthy family life.

Practices a relational style of leadership and ministry.

Displays a joyful spirit and a good sense of humor.

Able to work without direct supervision.

Competent in organization, administration and interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exhibit Christ-like conduct and commitment to high Biblical standards in personal ministry. 

Oversee College Ministry and staff.

Build intentional relationships with college students and young adults.

Execute administrative duties involving organizing and calendar planning.

Provide leadership in the curriculum selection for Small Group Bible Studies.

Organize and plan fellowship and recreational opportunities through games, sports, etc.

Coordinate these activities with church leaders in planning, coordinating strategies, and creating ideas.

Develop strategies specifically for reaching young adults 18 – 30 age group (outreach).

Analyze and make recommendations regarding organizational and space usage, equipment, and furniture needs and policies.

Establish meaningful personal relationships with the families of the congregation and community.

Identify, Recruit, Develop, and Deploy volunteer leaders to serve within the College and Young Adult Ministries.

Partner with other ministries (Youth, Missions, Worship, etc.) to create cross-generational and cross-ministry opportunities for engagement.

Oversee expenditures for the College and Young Adult Ministry budgets.

Coordinate with ministries including singles in specific age groups, families with and without children.

Support the pastor, staff and leadership of FBC through prayer, attendance, participation and stewardship of time, talent and resources

Cooperate with Association, State and SBC bodies in promoting activities of mutual interests.

Perform pastoral duties as requested, including hospital visitation, pastoral counseling, weddings, and funerals.
