First Baptist Georgetown is seeking a pastor who will faithfully lead, shepherd, and serve our church family while helping us grow spiritually and reach our community for Christ.

We desire a pastor who loves God’s Word, loves people, and has a genuine heart for sharing the Gospel. We believe the church should be a place where people of all generations can grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and find opportunities to serve.

We are prayerfully seeking a pastor who:

Demonstrates a clear calling to pastoral ministry and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Is committed to the authority of Scripture and sound biblical teaching.
Has a passion for preaching and teaching God’s Word.
Values prayer as an essential part of personal and congregational life.
Has a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and reaching those who do not know Christ.
Loves people and demonstrates compassion, humility, integrity, and approachability.
Is able to build relationships across generations and encourage church members to become actively involved in ministry.
Has a vision for spiritual growth, church health, and community outreach.
Demonstrates strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Supports the beliefs and cooperative ministry of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Primary Responsibilities
Preaching and Teaching

Prepare and deliver biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons.
Provide opportunities for Bible study and spiritual growth.
Teach and encourage the congregation to apply Scripture in daily life.
Prayer and Spiritual Leadership

Lead by example in personal prayer and dependence on God.
Encourage a culture of prayer throughout the congregation.
Provide spiritual direction and biblical guidance to the church.
Evangelism and Discipleship

Lead and encourage the church in sharing the Gospel.
Equip members to reach friends, family, and the surrounding community.
Encourage spiritual maturity and the development of believers.
Pastoral Care and Relationships

Provide encouragement, counsel, and spiritual support to members and families.
Be available to minister to individuals and families during times of need.
Build genuine relationships within the congregation and demonstrate care for people.
Church and Community Leadership

Work alongside church leadership and members to establish ministry goals and priorities.
Encourage involvement in church ministries and opportunities for service.
Help the church build connections with the surrounding community.
Encourage outreach to younger generations, families, and those who may not currently have a church home.
Qualifications and Expectations
A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A clear sense of calling to pastoral ministry.
Agreement with the church’s statement of faith and doctrinal beliefs.
A commitment to biblical preaching, prayer, evangelism, and discipleship.
Previous ministry experience preferred; the committee will prayerfully consider candidates with varying levels of experience.
Educational background and ministry training will be considered as part of the overall application.
