The Worship Leader is primarily responsible for equipping and preparing the Eastmont Campus for Sunday morning worship and special performances. Duties include rehearsal preparation and execution, special event planning, and development of the volunteer talent to enhance the worship experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude in performing all work and walk humbly with the Lord and in peace with the staff
- Serve as an active leader on the campus staff and help guide the church to achieve its mission of ‘Inviting People to be Transformed by Jesus’.
- Support campus efforts to engage the community
- Develop, execute, and evaluate a strategy for the Worship Ministry that connects the unchurched to Christ and the church, and renews believers through corporate worship and other worship experiences
- Develop and coordinate weekly worship service plans that coordinate with the sermon to be preached
- Organize and lead rehearsals for corporate worship and special events
- Participate in weekly review meetings with the staff on observations from the previous worship service
- Develop and execute special events that invite the church and the community to connect and worship outside of Sunday morning services
- Oversee maintenance of the music library, musical equipment, and other equipment
- Maintain current relationships, and develop new relationships with other worship band leaders to create events that encourage participation with those communities, with the goal that some would BELIEVE
- Create opportunities for the Eastmont Worship team to serve off campus… Help the band BE SENT
- Develop teams to execute Sunday morning worship and other special events
- Recruit and develop the volunteer band members as worshippers and as musicians by selecting repertoire that is challenging and rewarding, and theologically and doctrinally sound
- Recruit and develop volunteer technical team members to execute assigned duties with excellence
- Plan and execute fellowship events like dinners, social gatherings, retreats etc, with the Worship Band that foster community and emphasize the core values of BELONG and BECOME
- Work with soloists, and ensembles as available when they are scheduled
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to the Campus Pastor, interacts frequently with other staff members and volunteers
- Works directly with Worship Ministry volunteers to execute Sunday morning and special events and the FBK Worship Pastor to coordinate cross-campus events and purchases
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience leading worship required
- College degree with an emphasis in worship leadership preferred
- Must be an active member of the church, including participation in weekly worship, be connected to a discipleship group, and be a faithful supporter of the church through tithes and offerings
- Work includes some local and national travel, and could include international travel
- Duties require irregular work hours
- Availability for meetings (based on schedule) is required along with rehearsals
