Summary Statement: This minister of worship and youth position is a full-time position where the minister is responsible to the Pastor for overseeing the Sunday morning worship service and the youth ministry of First Baptist Church of Warrenton, GA.

FBC Warrenton is a conservative Southern Baptist church, known as a warm and loving body of believers who love the Lord and love each other.  Average worship attendance is 150 with an average of 110 in Sunday School. We have a blended worship style with a choir and a praise team. The staff of our church work as a team to accomplish the mission and ministries of the church. We have twenty-five to thirty active youth who participate in activities throughout the week. Warrenton, Georgia is a rural area that is located 35 miles west of Augusta, Georgia.

Spiritual Expectations

1.     He must be a born-again believer; having accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord and actively growing in his relationship with the Lord.

2.     He must have a clear calling to ministry in the local church.

3.     He must be currently involved in a local church with similar doctrinal beliefs.

4.     He must love the local church and love serving and leading people in a deeper walk with the Lord.

5.     He must seek to enhance his personal growth and development by spending time each day in prayer and personal Bible study.

Overview of Minister of Worship Role

Principle Function

As worship leader, this man will oversee the music of the Sunday morning worship service.  He will be asked to select the songs, update and organize the presentation software, communicate with the praise teams, media and tech teams, and oversee the congregational singing.  He will not have oversight of the choir but will work with our choir director and staff in creating a meaningful worship service.

Necessary Skills and Responsibilities

1.     He needs to be able to play either the guitar or the keyboard proficiently.

2.     He needs to be skilled as a vocalist.

3.     He needs to have an in-depth knowledge of the Baptist hymnal and contemporary and modern praise songs.

4.     He will be expected to work alongside the ministerial staff in creating and implementing Sunday morning worship services.

5.     He must be able to organize, encourage, and support our praise teams as well as our media and tech teams.

6.     He will develop a schedule for the praise teams and media and tech teams.

7.     He will need to communicate with these different teams through text, email, or phone to communicate their schedules, the order of service, and any last-minute changes that have been made to the service.

8.     This person must be comfortable with technology, including but not limited to presentation software and the sound equipment.

Overview of Minister of Youth Role

Principle Function
As minister of youth, this man will work with the pastor, staff, youth (6th-12th grade), and the youth families to develop, implement, and lead a ministry that equips and enables youth to know Jesus as Savior and Lord and to grow spiritually.

Necessary Skills and Responsibilities
·       Administrative:

1.     Establish and direct an effective Sunday School ministry for youth

2.     Assist in training leadership in the youth ministry

3.     Cooperate with the Nominating Committee to enlist volunteers for the youth ministry

4.     Assist the Minister of Education in selecting Sunday School curriculum for the youth ministry

5.     Assist in developing a budget for the youth ministry

6.     Coordinate with the pastor, staff, and area schools in planning a calendar of events for the youth ministry

7.     Coordinate the planning of all youth activities

8.     Establish and maintain routine communications with youth and their parents

·       Ministerial

1.     Lead youth to participate in the full life of the church

2.     Provide a fun and safe environment for FBC Warrenton youth to invite their unchurched friends

3.     Help youth identify and use their spiritual gifts

4.     Plan and implement youth activities that promote spiritual growth, Christian values, Christian fellowship, Bible study, and family enrichment

5.     Counsel youth, parents, and youth volunteers as needed

6.     Promote respect for authority, for parents, and for each other

7.     Recognize youth’s accomplishments and achievements

8.     Be a good role model for youth

9.     When possible, connect with youth and families outside of regular church activities, such as school functions, community events, and sporting events

Other Expectations and Responsibilities

1.     Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow staff members by having regular office hours, attending weekly staff meetings and supporting all ministries of the church

2.     Be present and prepared for all functions that he is leading or assisting in

3.     Represent the Lord and First Baptist Church well in conduct and on social media

4.     Refrain from alcohol, tobacco products, and drugs

5.     Encouraged, when available, to support other ministries within the church through his presence

6.     Encouraged to enhance his ministry skills (as time and budget permit) by attending appropriate seminars and trainings

7.     Partner with the pastor and staff in ministering to the overall needs within the church and the community

Other Considerations
1.     Financial Compensation: Salary and other benefits, which include health insurance and housing allowance, will range between $58,000 –$68,000, depending on experience.

2.     Vacation Time—The minister of worship and youth will have two weeks off each year.  Vacation must be worked out with the pastor prior to taking time off.
