Pastor Full Time

First Southern Baptist Church of Dove Creek is in search of a full-time pastor. We are a small rural church located in southwestern Colorado, in the county of Dolores, in the town of Dove Creek.  The population is around 800 in our town and 1500-1700 in our county.  We have K-12 schools with a brand-new elementary school located within walking distance as well as the middle/high school. Our community is farm based with wheat, pinto beans, and alfalfa being the main crops raised.  Dove Creek is located within an hour to two-hour drive from Mesa Verde National Park, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and Arches National Park.  There are numerous opportunities for fishing, hunting, hiking, and biking.  We have an average Sunday morning attendance of 15-20, with most attendees being over the age of 50 and not all are members.  Our church roles record 45.  Our church is associated with the Mesa Verde Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist General Convention.  We adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message.  We want our candidates to meet the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.  The Pastor must keep himself from worldly affairs and above approach in conduct and finances. In addition to preaching the Bible and seeking salvation of the lost, we would like our new pastor to be someone who can work with us in achieving the spiritual and numerical growth of the congregation as well as draw younger congregants and youth to our church worship services.   We would like our candidate to be willing to become bi-vocational should the need arise. For housing, we have a new, rent free, non-furnished, 3 bedroom, 2 bath single wide mobile home available on our parsonage lot with utilities paid along with salary.
