Children’s Minister Full Time

First Southern Baptist Church in Salina, Kansas is excitedly and prayerfully seeking a full-time Children’s Minister (ages 0-6th grade) to join their staff. FSBC is a growing, intergenerational church with two full-time pastors and averages around 220 on Sunday mornings. Salina is a town of about 50,000 people and is located at the intersection of Interstates 70 and 135. Salina is around 90 miles from Wichita, Kansas and 175 miles from Kansas City. 

Duties Include:

1. Provide leadership, organize, and train personnel in the following areas:

AWANA, Children’s Church, Children’s Camp, Nursery Program, Children’s Sunday School, VBS

2. Prepare and administer the Children’s 0-6th grade ministry budget

3. Prepare and plan the Children’s Church and Sunday School curriculum and select qualified teachers

4. Oversee Children’s Camp registration, attend camp, and select qualified sponsors

5. Oversee and communicate with Nursery leaders

6. Oversee and communicate with AWANA leaders

7. Create and oversee new ministry opportunities with the 0-6th grade children

Responsibilities

1. Program Planning: Plan and implement programs that are engaging and safe for children

2. Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to help with programs

3. Communication: Communicate with parents about programs and events, and field questions and concerns

4. Supply Management: Request, store, and distribute supplies

5. Care: Provide care to families, and help children develop a strong faith foundation

6. Spiritual Development: Teach, train, and encourage children in their faith

7. Publicity: Promote children’s programs and events through social media, website, and other channels

Details

Salary is $42,000-$48,000 with an additional $5,000 reimbursable ministry budget

Master’s degree preferred
