Job Summary:

The Student Director will oversee all aspects of our children/youth ministry, providing spiritual leadership, mentorship, and support to our young people and their families. This role involves planning and leading engaging programs, teaching biblical truths, and fostering a welcoming environment where young people can connect with God and one another. The ideal candidate will have a heart for young people, a commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and a desire to partner with parents and church leadership to build a thriving ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive children/youth ministry program, including weekly aged-based Wednesday night group meetings, organizing a Sunday morning children’s church and discipleship opportunities.
  • Plan and lead events, such as retreats, mission trips, summer camp, service projects, and fun activities, to foster spiritual growth and fellowship.
  • Coordinate and train volunteers to deliver age-appropriate lessons rooted in Scripture, aligning with Baptist doctrine.
  • Provide care, counseling, and encouragement to youth and their families.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of adult volunteers to support children/youth ministry.
  • Collaborate with the Pastor and church leadership to integrate the youth ministry into the church’s broader vision.
  • Establish relationships with local schools and community organizations to connect with unchurched youth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through regular updates, meetings, and involvement opportunities.
  •  Reports to the Pastors                   

Qualifications:

  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a clear testimony of faith.
  • Associate’s degree (preferred but not required).
  • Alignment with Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  • Previous experience in youth ministry or working with teens (volunteer or paid).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • The ability to connect with youth and relate to their challenges in today’s culture.
  • A team player with a collaborative spirit and a teachable heart.
  • Ability to pass a background check and adhere to church safety policies.
