Children’s Minister Part Time

Geyer Road Baptist Church, an SBC/MBC church in Kirkwood, Missouri, is searching for a part-time children’s minister. This is a stable, Bible-teaching, gospel-proclaiming church in a suburban community. Our Senior Pastor, Ed Plants, has served as our Shepherd for over 27 years. The purpose statement of our church is to “Share the light of Christ so all people can know God and grow in love and service.”

The primary role of our children’s minister is to come alongside of our parents and church families to encourage children to learn about God and to someday embrace Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and then to grow in becoming fully committed followers of Him. Our goal is that each of our church family, including our children, become devoted disciples of Jesus, effective witnesses in proclaiming and living out the gospel, and servant leaders in ministry and multiplying Christ-followers.

Responsibilities of the Children’s Minister include:

Overseeing Sunday am Bible classes (not necessarily teaching)
Overseeing and coordinating volunteers for Children’s Church which takes place during the sermon time of the Sunday am worship service
Overseeing and coordinating volunteers for Sunday pm Kids’ Club (a personalized hybrid of Awanas and TeamKid during the school year
Coordinating and facilitating several outreach events for children and families (traditionally this has included an Easter egg hunt, a summer water event, a back to school event and a Fall Festival)
Helping and participating in a yearly Vacation Bible School (traditionally a Monday-Friday in June)

This is a paid position, negotiable according to experience and needs. Hours will vary, but are generally expected to be approximately 10-12 hours per week. Money is budgeted for children’s ministry materials and expenses.
