Youth Minister Part Time

Geyer Road Baptist Church, an SBC/MBC church in Kirkwood, Missouri, is searching for a part-time youth minister. This is a stable, Bible-teaching, gospel-proclaiming church in a suburban community. Our church has a healthy history, having sustained relationships with 3 youth ministers over the past 22 years. Our Senior Pastor, Ed Plants, has served as our Shepherd for over 27 years. The purpose statement of our church is to “Share the light of Christ so all people can know God and grow in love and service.”

The primary role of our youth minister is to come alongside of our parents and church families to encourage teenagers to embrace Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and then to grow in becoming fully committed followers of Him. Our goal is that each of our church family, including our youth, become devoted disciples of Jesus, effective witnesses in proclaiming and living out the gospel, and servant leaders in ministry and multiplying Christ-followers.

Responsibilities of the Youth Minister include:

Weekly youth group that attracts believers and seekers (Sunday pm)
Weekly discipleship group that takes equipping and Bible study to a deeper level (perhaps Wednesday pm, but negotiable)
Outreach events, generally monthly
Service projects in our community and region
One-week mission trips in the summer
Occasional retreats, camps or special projects designed to enhance personal and group growth and service
Oversight of Sunday am Bible study (not necessarily always the teacher)
Working with the pastor and youth council to stay like-minded and integrate the youth ministry into the overall church body

This is a paid position, negotiable according to experience and needs. Hours will vary, but are generally expected to be approximately 15 hours per week. Money is budgeted for youth ministry materials and expenses.
