Director of Youth and Discipleship Part Time

Responsibilities (15-20 hours per week)

• Derive scriptural discipleship practices and implement them under advisement of the pastor and deacons and with the approval of the congregation

• Initiate one-on-one or small group discipleship relationships (In the spirit of Titus 2:1-8)

• Lead Wednesday night youth meetings (There is freedom to tailor this to the particular youth group’s needs, though biblical exposition is a universal need)

• Plan quarterly youth events centering on either fellowship, discipleship, or outreach

• Preach once a month on Sunday evenings in order to regularly hone the skill of preaching and promote unity in the church among the various ages

• Regularly attend all church services and functions

• Lead involvement in local schools and other outreach opportunities in accordance with the church

• Teach Sunday School

• Attend regular leadership and accountability meetings with the deacons

• Meet annually with the building and grounds committee to discuss any maintenance needs in youth areas or parsonage; also notify immediately of any concerns

Qualifications

• Agrees with the statements in the Baptist Faith & Message 2000

• Qualified to minister in the church as required in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

• Committed to living and serving in a manner consistent with the standards set forth in Scripture

• Committed to Goshen Baptist Church’s mission statement
