Role and Responsibilities

The role of the Worship Pastor is to cultivate an environment for people to encounter the presence of Christ through music and worship. The Worship Pastor is responsible for leading the worship services of the church in all creative efforts to present the gospel and guide those in the church into a deeper relationship with Christ through praise and worship.

General responsibilities of the position:

• Have a personal relationship with Christ and continue to grow in your faith through personal devotion to God’s Word, prayer, and evangelism.
• Lead regular worship practices and meetings in preparation for Grace Community Church Sunday worship services and special events.
• Provide Audio/Media oversight and implementation as the church needs.
• Coordinate with Senior Pastor and to lead regular Sunday Worship Services.
• Display pastoral love, compassion, and care for worship team volunteers and church attendees. 
• Work with Church volunteers to plan and execute events throughout the year.
• Mentor and disciple praise and worship volunteers regarding worship ministry, worship music and worship service etiquette. 
• Serve as the primary contact for Sunday Worship Services.

General character and theological requirements of the position:

• Must be in full agreement with GCC statement of faith.
• Must possess a genuine call and commitment to the gospel ministry and shepherding of the church.
• Must possess advanced, professional communication skills.
• Must maintain a lifestyle of faith and character in accordance with Titus 2 and 1 Timothy 3.
• Must be a visionary and possess the ability to actualize vision.
• Must be a creative problem solver.
• Must possess advanced skills on guitar or piano.
• Must possess the ability and desire to be lead vocalist.
• Must attend weekly church staff meeting
• Must hold regular office hours.
