NextGen/Student Minister/Associate Pastor

Hardeetown Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a fulltime, parttime, or bi-vocational NextGen or Student pastor who desires to serve the Lord, will help build His ministry, and will invest in the lives of our students and their families.  This is an all hands on deck, hands on, not just a delegator’s role.  We are seeking to make a Kingdom impact in our community.  

Job Summary

The NextGen/Student Minister/Associate Pastor will be the spiritual leader, director, influencer, and oversee the overall student ministry of the church. The NextGen/Student Minister/Associate Pastor will report to the Senior Pastor, assist in carrying out the ministries and responsibilities of the church as needed, work in close cooperation with leadership teams and other members of the church staff, and collaborate with the Senior Pastor in making Hardeetown Baptist Church a friendly and welcoming place for youth and their families.

Minimum Qualifications

Most importantly! Must be able to articulate their genuine, life-changing surrender to Christ and demonstrate a growing relationship.

At least two years in Bible college or equivalent service in a ministry position. 

Ability to build relationships with staff, students, parents, and church members.

Be involved in and conduct community outreach and committed to local community.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and manage multiple tasks.

Have sufficient skills and experience to relate Bible teachings and applications to real life questions and situations that apply to youth and their families in a increasingly challenging culture.

Commitment to assist students and church members in discovering ways to authentically live out their Christian faith.

Commitment to evangelism and sharing the Gospel.

Approachable and outgoing Christian, a member in good standing of an evangelical church in commitment to and in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Responsibilities

Fill in for the pastor as needed, carrying out the ministry of the church including administrative tasks, handling emergencies, preaching, leading, outreach, and any other ministry needs as directed by the pastor.

Encourage and instruct students in their spiritual growth.

Provide leadership for and build relationships with students, parents and church members.  Lead students in a weekly Bible study and other worship opportunities.

Recruit, train, mentor, and guide adult and student volunteers in a team based, participatory student ministry in the church including Sunday school, worship, weekday ministry and special projects.

Plan and carry out mission activities for students, actively including them in outreach, service and evangelism challenging them to put their faith in action.

Prepare and distribute a monthly calendar, coordinated with the youth committee of youth-related activities, to the church council and the church at large.

Regularly report on the state of the student ministry to the pastor, the church council, and the church.

Take advantage of continuing training opportunities as time and resources permit consistent with the requirements of the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual.
