Preschool Assistant Part Time

Job Description:

The Preschool Assistant will serve the Kids Ministry at Heatherwood Baptist Church by providing oversight and attention to the preschool age ministries under the leadership and direction of the Kids Minister. He or she will directly report to the Kids Minister (or designee). The primary role of this position is to coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that are critical to the growth, development, care and maintenance of the preschool classes of the Kids Ministry.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

• Uphold the Mission and Vision of Heatherwood Baptist Church.
• Be heavily involved in classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, rotating between classes and coming alongside scheduled volunteers to assist with teaching and other activities.
• Coordinate, lead and equip existing volunteers and work with Kids Minister on training new volunteers for effective ministry within the church.
• Coordinate and implement curriculum for Preschool Ministry alongside Kids Minster.
• Partner with the worship department for special church-wide worship events.
• Coordinate Parent Dedication and Breakfast & Bibles events alongside Kids Minister.
• Partner with families to equip and empower parents/families to disciple their children.
• Communicate and implement the church’s approved safety policy.
• Ensure safety and legal compliance within the Kids Ministry (MinistrySafe Training, child protection policy, etc.).
• Perform other related-duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

• Experience in Kids Ministry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Volunteer team development experience preferred.
