Job Summary

The Student Pastor is responsible for ensuring Immanuel Baptist Church partners with families of students (6th grade – 12th grade) to connect, equip, and multiply the next generation of disciples of Christ.

Responsibilities

1. Vision

  • Own Immanuel’s vision and mission.
  • Determine ways to effectively cast and invite others into God’s vision for students and their families.
  • Develop and personally cast vision for the Student Ministry.

2. Strategy

  • Develop and implement a strategy to partner with families of students to connect, equip, and multiply the next generation of disciples of Christ.
  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot all aspects of our weekly and special event experience for students and their families.

3. Leadership Development

  • Build, oversee, and champion a culture of leadership development within the Student Ministry.
  • Read books and attend approved trainings for sharpening your discipleship and development methods.

Qualifications

1. Must meet the requirements of an elder/pastor/overseer as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
2. Must have a strong theological foundation. A Bachelor’s or Seminary degree is preferred but not required.
3. Must have a minimum of 3 years of church leadership experience.
4. Must possess strong leadership, organizational, communication, and teaching skills.
5. Must be caring and approachable.
6. Must be evangelistic in ministry approach.
