The Facilities Manager/Maintenance Technician should have extensive experience in building maintenance and cleaning processes and procedures, and have a thorough knowledge of heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical, building, and roofing systems. The Facilities Manager/Maintenance Technician should also have experience in managing a cleaning and maintenance crew and be able to work well with a wide variety of personality types. This person needs to be detail oriented, have the ability to exercise independent judgment and be able to handle multiple priorities. Also necessary is the ability to represent Immanuel Baptist Church in a positive manner. The Facilities Manager/Maintenance Technician will ensure that hazardous materials are labeled and that Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available to staff if/when spills occur. Keep records of major equipment in each building and set up a preventive maintenance program for buildings and equipment overseeing and performing maintenance and required inspections. This is a “hands on” position, with many of the issues handled in-house before an outside vendor or repairman

Responsibilities
• Oversee the general maintenance, repair, and cleaning of church facilities and equipment; assign or perform work as necessary
• Analyze/diagnose building and equipment problems; and report to Minister of Administration if professional repair services are necessary
• Conduct periodic safety inspections and handle problems as soon as possible
• Work with the Executive Administrator in the hiring and management of maintenance and custodial employees
• Supervise cleaning and maintenance crew and handle Performance Reviews
• Oversee the training of maintenance and custodial employees and volunteers
• Purchase cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment
• Consult and work with Executive Administrator concerning major equipment replacement and assist with vendor negotiations
• Arrange for snow and ice removal as necessary
• Ensure that fire alarms and security systems are functioning properly
• Keep storage areas in a safe and secure condition
• Ensure that any dangerous chemicals are stored in safe locations
• Assist in the preparation and handling of the annual cleaning and maintenance budget
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Insure lawn care maintenance and repair work
