Associate Pastor Full Time

Overview

The Associate Pastor will oversee Immanuel Church’s discipleship, outreach, and missions ministries and assist in pastoral care and counseling. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee community groups, develop new groups, and train group leaders.
• Advance our model of church planting through community groups.
• Oversee the discipleship ministries of the church (e.g. Christianity Explored, Discipleship Essentials, Evangelism Training, Life Seminars)
• Identify and lead outreach and evangelism opportunities in Rensselaer, East Greenbush, and North Greenbush.
• Engage in pastoral care and counseling with individuals, couples, and families.
• Preach at least 6 times per year.
• Plan and lead short-term mission trips.
• Serve as part of the elder team; attend regular elder meetings.

The Candidate will:

• Be qualified to serve as an elder based on the requirements in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:2-3, and ordained to gospel ministry by a church of like faith.
• Demonstrate the heart and lifestyle of a Great Commission man.
• Be fully supportive of the statement of faith, organizational structure, vision, and mission of Immanuel Church.
• Be organized, self-motivated, and an effective communicator.
• Ideally, have at least five years of ministry experience and a Master of Divinity or equivalent degree. Counseling, missions, or church planting training and experience is also desirable.

Compensation

Full-time salaried position with a compensation package of $60,000-82,000, depending on resume and experience.
