In search of a part time Children’s Pastor.

Some Skills Needed: 

• Ability to organize effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to develop a strategy and implement tactics to achieve strategic goals.
• Ability to lead children’s Bible studies and worship services.
• Having an eye for details and the capacity to see the big picture
• Communicating well to children and adults and have a high tolerance for stress.
• Ability to take complex spiritual matters and communicate them in a way that children can easily understand and apply them in their lives.
• Inspiring and motivating others to serve
• Ability to work with computers and mobile devices and learn new skills such as:
  • Apple Pages & Microsoft Word (a must)
  • Apple Numbers & Microsoft Excel (at least some knowledge of the program)
  • Final Cut Pro video editing software.
  • Basic Photoshop image manipulation skills.
  • Familiarity with iOS, with special attention to calendar, mail, and contacts.
  • Willingness to learn Church Admin Software such as Church Trac, Planning Center Online, and Pushpay.

What you will be doing:

• Develop and implement children’s church curriculum that promotes spiritual growth.
• Lead children’s church services on Sunday morning, Sundering evening, and Wednesday evening as well as scheduled special events.
• Attend a weekly staff meeting for planning, prayer, and spiritual development.
• Connect volunteers to areas of service and maintain background checks and required training of volunteers.
• Schedule volunteers for needed services and find replacements for volunteers that are not able to serve.
• Work with web developer to update and maintain areas of the website focused on children’s ministry.
• Develop and execute social media strategies for communicating to parents the goals and objectives of the children’s ministry.
• Produce videos as needed for weekly children’s worship services.
• Oversee committees and work with chairperson to establish mission statements for children’s ministry that are congruent with the overall mission of the church.
• Helping establish goals for committees and assist in achieving goals that promote spiritual growth for the entire family with a focused emphasis on the children.
• Assist with the master calendar scheduling of all church activities and events taking place in or on our facilities to coordinate children’s activities that compliment the overall strategy of the church.
• Perform other tasks as will be assigned by the senior pastor.
• Arrange for work to be done when away for vacation, training events, or leave of any kind.
• Inform the pastor or the Deacon Chairman at least two weeks prior to taking vacation or personal leave.
