Assistant Pastor – Youth and Family Ministries Full Time

Position Summary: The Assistant Pastor serves alongside the Senior Pastor and church leadership to shepherd the congregation, advance the mission of the church, and foster spiritual growth across generations.

This role focuses on leading student ministry (middle and high school) and strengthening family discipleship, while also assisting in teaching, pastoral care, and leadership development. This position represents a calling to serve Christ and His church through faithful, relational, and gospel-centered ministry.

Key Responsibilities*
Youth Ministry Leadership
Lead and oversee weekly student bible studies and activities (middle & high school)
Teach biblical truth in engaging, age-appropriate ways
Develop discipleship pathways, events, and outreach opportunities
Build relationships with students and maintain a presence in local schools
Oversee curriculum, resources, and communication (including social media)

Family Discipleship
Equip and encourage parents as primary spiritual leaders
Strengthen connections between families and church life
Support integration of new families into the church

Pastoral Ministry
Assist with pastoral care (hospital visits, counseling, funerals, prayer support)
Preach and teach as assigned
Support Sunday services and discipleship ministries

Leadership & Administration
Recruit, train, and care for volunteers
Build and lead healthy ministry teams
Collaborate with staff and participate in leadership meetings
Assist with ministry planning, budgeting, and church-wide initiatives

Qualifications
Spiritual & Theological
Meets biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9)
Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear call to ministry
Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and aligns with Southern Baptist theology

Education & Experience
Associate’s degree (minimum) in ministry or related field (preferred)
Ordained or willing to pursue ordination

Leadership Structure
Reports to the Senior Pastor
Works alongside Elders, staff, and ministry leaders
Receives mentorship and support for ongoing growth
Will be supported by the assistance of a Youth Committee
