Kids Ministry Director Part Time
The Church at Arrowhead
ActiveAbout Our Church
TCAA is a growing multigenerational church located in Glendale, AZ (northwest Phoenix area). On average, we host 250 to 300 people between our two Sunday morning services. Our church sits at the epicenter of a massive residential area that is being reinvigorated with young families.
Things are vibrant and growing. Recent direction towards an Acts 2:42-47 vision has ignited a season of clarity, familial bonding, and excitement throughout our church. We are looking for an organized yet visionary leader to help establish this vision in our Kids Ministry, making it one of the first things people mention when they share why they love TCAA. This person would see Kids Ministry as being more about life change than programs, honing its culture, teaching, and fun to nourish children as souls with the capacity for mature faith (Job 32:6-9; Psalm 119:99-100).
Key Responsibilities
- General staff duties (involvement in church life, member care).
- Collaborate with lead pastor to develop and implement a biblical Kids Ministry philosophy and culture.
- Champion and oversee weekly kids programming (Sundays, midweek) and seasonal events (VBS, etc.).
- Oversee our Kids Ministry volunteers. This includes recruitment, onboarding, development, and ongoing spiritual/organizational oversight.
- Serve as the direct report for our part time Preschool Director, ensuring preschool functions as a thriving extension of Kids Ministry.
- Coordinate a regimen of events and resources that will equip parents to thrive as at-home disciple makers.
- Oversee Kids Ministry calendar, curriculum, budget, and ministry resources.
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrable new life through saving faith in Jesus; have undergone believers baptism.
- Confidence of God’s call into children’s ministry; deep longing to see children experience and follow Christ.
- Alignment with TCAA’s statement of faith, values, and vision.
- Ability to self-start and organize purposeful ministry activity at a high-level of excellence.
- Strong relational skills to work effectively with kids, parents, volunteers, and staff.
- Proven experience in ministry leadership (family care, teaching, team leadership, and disciple making).
- Strong ability to teach and connect with children.
- Ability to develop, champion, and facilitate dynamic programming for kids, both weekly and seasonally.
- Ability to develop and lead volunteer ministry teams.
