Discipleship Pastor Full Time

The Discipleship Pastor will serve as a pastor in LifePoint Church community and have the primary responsibility of spiritual formation, discipleship, and leadership development. In addition to joining the pastoral team in the regular duties of caring for the church, the Discipleship Pastor will be involved in many aspects of making disciples and developing leaders as listed below. 

Teaching Classes 
The Discipleship Pastor will teach (or oversee the teaching of) a wide range of classes such as our Baptism Class, Child Dedication, Faith Foundations (6 weeks), Membership, and other classes developed for the equipping of our church. The Discipleship Pastor will help to assess the needs of our church family and develop solutions for maturity. In addition, the Discipleship Pastor will rotate as a preacher for both campuses as needed. 

Word To Life Studies
The Discipleship Pastor will function as the general editor, organizer, and contributor for our WTL sermon aligned study guides. We produce and distribute these for free to our church and others in the region as a companion resource for our expositional book studies. As we study through book of the Bible verse by verse, our WTL studies consist of a 5 day precursor to the sermon to help our community sit in and study a text prior to hearing it preached on Sunday. 

LifeGroup Communities 
The Discipleship Pastor will ensure the health and growth of our LifeGroups by recruiting, training, and encouraging the LifeGroup Leaders. We also want to consider how to create a more intentional culture of disciple making in one on one settings and micro groups. 

LifePoint Institute
LifePoint Church has a regional vision to start and strengthen churches all over the Greater Houston Area. Therefore, we launched a 2 year residency program with the mission to develop and deploy church leaders throughout the city. The Discipleship Pastor will help in the recruiting, organizing, and teaching in the institute. 

Biblical Counseling Ministry 
LifePoint hopes to establish a biblical counseling ministry through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). The Discipleship Pastor will spearhead this initiative by receiving the ACBC training and developing a team of biblical counselors to serve our church family. 

League City Classical School
LifePoint is passionate about Christian education and desires to start a classical Christian school. We have been developing the infrastructure and are looking for someone to take lead and pioneer the project. We hope the Discipleship Pastor can take the lead in moving this initiative forward.
