Senior Pastoral Position We, the congregation of LifeWay Baptist Church in Santa Paula, California, seek a passionate Christ-centered senior pastor to help lead us into our next chapter of ministry. Our church consists of two congregations, both English and Spanish. We currently have a part-time  assistant pastor who leads the Spanish congregation. We are an independent church, but partner with the Southern Baptist Convention and align with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We want to grow our church within the community of Santa Paula and surrounding cities. We are a vibrant, growing, community-focused, debt-free church, and we are looking for someone who will be a strong leader, a gifted communicator, and a compassionate shepherd.                                                                                   Church Profile

Our church was founded in 1941, planted a church in 1969, and reunited in 2000. Our average weekly attendance, including English and Spanish services, is 130 people. Prior to our Sunday service, we have Sunday School classes for children and adults. Nursery, Pre-K, and Kids Jam (grades 1-5) run concurrently with the service.

We also have a weekly Good News Club and an annual Vacation Bible School.

                                                                                  Responsibilities:

The Senior Pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, teach the Bible, engage in pastoral care ministries, and provide oversight of all areas of church life and the ministerial staff.

Be the spiritual leader and overseer of the congregation and facilitate all congregational meetings.

Provide administrative leadership for the total church program, including all activities and facilities.

Lead the church in evangelism and discipleship, fostering the spiritual growth of the congregation.

Preach at all worship services which includes arranging for someone else to perform the function in your absence.

Recommend and advise on the selection of all staff members and in determining their duties.

Plan for and provide leadership in the observance of the church ordinance.

Conduct funeral services and wedding ceremonies under God’s will and direction, sharing and delegating to others on the staff responsibilities in this area.

Supervise the establishment and lead the working of all committees in accordance with the Constitution and bylaws.

Counsel, consult, and assist in training deacons and trustees with their responsibilities.

Maintain regular office hours and keep the administrative assistant informed of your location during office hours.

Perform other tasks as might be assigned by the leadership of the church.

Mentor future leaders in the church.
