Senior Pastor Full Time

Macedonia Baptist Church (MBC) in Myrtle, MS is seeking a qualified candidate to fill our opening for Senior Pastor due to our current pastor’s upcoming retirement. MBC is seeking a strong leader that is grounded in God’s word and has a heart for the people he is leading. Our church has been blessed with many good leaders and teachers who are ready to support our new pastor in growing our church spiritually and attracting new families to our congregation.

MBC, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, is active in giving, community involvement, and missions. The church mission statement is “We exist to lead Union County and beyond into a life-changing relationship with Christ” and that statement is being fulfilled through thriving children’s, youth, and adult ministries which have contributed to substantial growth over the last 10 years.  Currently, MBC averages 350 for Sunday morning service and 70 youth and 85 children at the Wednesday night services.     

While Macedonia is located in a rural setting, it is not the typical country church.  The church is located in and is a vital part of the West Union community. Located in western Union County, MBC is 15 miles from New Albany, MS, 23 miles from Oxford, MS, and 75 miles from Memphis, TN.  Macedonia is located in the West Union School District, which has consistently been an “A” rated school by the Mississippi Department of Education.. West Union Attendance Center was also recently recognized as the top K-12 school in Mississippi.

MBC is also committed to investing in the facilities by utilizing current Audio/Visual and lighting technology for the worship services as well as in the Youth room, Children’s department, and other areas as needed to aid in worship and teaching.  Attention to the condition and appearance of the church facilities and campus are also a priority.  The MBC family strives to keep the buildings clean, modern, and inviting to members and guests.

The Senior Pastor position will be full time with health insurance, retirement, and housing and/or housing allowance included in our salary package. Salary package will be based on education and experience. A Master’s Degree or higher with a minimum of 10 years experience is preferred, but we would prayerfully consider other experience and qualifications as the Lord leads.
