Summary of Position
Provide administrative support to the pastoral staff and the congregation; present a positive image to those who contact the church by phone and in person; other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Senior Pastor.

Requirements
• Born again believer with a clear testimony and a maturing relationship with Christ.
• Agreement with the Doctrinal Statement of the MBC and Southern Baptist Convention-Faith and Message
•HS Diploma/Equivalent Required while an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
•Highly competent in the use of various software applications, office computer systems, telephone, messaging systems and the copy/fax equipment.
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• Minimum five years Clerical/Administrative Experience
• Strong verbal and written skills
•Pass a background check per State of Pennsylvania law. (Church covers cost.)
• Ability to accomplish give task within set time standards while operating all equipment without causing damage to self, fellow workers or facilities.
Working Relationships
• Serve as office liaison with all ministries and groups of the MBC
• Have good knowledge of membership to meet requests from ministries, general congregation and Senior Pastor as required.
• Provide first point of contact on phone, email or in person
• Work is performed in an administrative position of the Church Office and at other Church related facilities when need be.
• Typical work hours: four hour blocks per day Monday – Thursday and then as needed on Friday and special events on Saturdays.
Core Responsibilities- Any or all of the following duties many be assigned;
• Secretarial Support
– Open incoming mail and distribute to appropriate persons
– Apply postage, mail correspondence, and send out other pieces for special activities
– Do typing projects and make copies as assigned
– File correspondence, reports, church newspaper ads, etc.
– Answer incoming phone calls and email traffic, answer general questions, and directs requests to appropriate persons
• Church Administration/Communications
– Prepare church bulletins, special flyers, etc.
– Maintain Annual Church Calendar
– Assign meeting rooms for daily and standing use
– Keep accurate church records, including membership, baptismal, marriage, special mailing lists, etc.
– Obtain and provide the necessary information to complete baby dedication certificates
– Coordinate Home Going Process with Assigned Diaconate Representative
• Office Administration
– Ensure daily administrative tasks are carried out in a timely manner
– Work with Trustee ministry regarding office equipment purchase, repairs, facility maintenance needs, etc.
– Maintain all office supplies, keep track of inventory and replenish/reorder when necessary
– Order facilities related cleaning supplies and kitchen area food/drink services supplies.

– Be a self-starter and able to work at a fast pace while maintaining high quality output
– Able to anticipate, identify, and prioritize issues timely and act without constant supervision
– Be courteous and tactful with members and any visitors, as well as with people during telephone encounters

– Creative in the approach to administration while maintaining a keen eye for detail

– Exercise exceptional judgment when dealing with sensitive and personal issues
– Committed to work as a member of the Church team
– Be able to multi-task
– When required work some weekends, including during some special events
