Pastor Full Time

General Description:

The pastor is the spiritual leader of the church. He is responsible to the Lord and the church to proclaim the gospel and teach the Bible. He is to be engaged in pastoral care and administrative leadership in all areas of the congregational care.

Pastoral Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Must have a personal relationship with the Lord.
• Must be ordained.
• plans and conducts services.
• Leads the church in effective evangelism and caring ministry for those in the church and community.
• Visits the sick and shut-in members and church prospects.
• Conducts counseling sessions.
• Conducts funerals.
• Performs wedding ceremonies between a man and women only.
• Leads the church in planning and evaluating all church programs and ministries with deacons and elected officers.
• cooperates with the local association, state convention and national Baptist convention leadership in matters of mutual interest and concerns.
• Acts as moderator of church business meetings
