Student Minister Part Time

Job Description:

The Student Minister will lead and oversee the youth ministry at Midway Baptist Church. He must prioritize biblical doctrine and literacy in his ministry. He must be a self-starter, creative, and demonstrate leadership capability. He must have a teachable spirit, and a willingness to grow in maturity in his position. He must be willing to serve with a team mindset. He must demonstrate a willingness to develop relationships with church members in an effort to serve them as a minister at Midway. He must demonstrate a willingness to share the gospel in his community, and an eagerness to equip students to do the same.

Spiritual Qualifications:
This candidate must lead a life that’s above reproach as directed in Scripture. He must agree with the doctrines taught in the Southern Baptist Faith and Message 2000. He must lead a dedicated devotional life in pursuit of personal holiness. He must be willing to be discipled and disciple other believers as accords with Scripture. He must be willing to join in membership at Midway Baptist in agreement with our Covenant, Doctrines, Constitution, and Bylaws.

Specific Duties:
1.     Facilitate a Sunday School Ministry for students
2.      Facilitate a weekly Youth Worship Service
3.     Organize and promote activities such as service projects, mission trips, retreats, fellowships, and  conferences that will enhance spiritual growth
4.     Develop and execute a strategy to engage the local schools in Harris County.
5.     Ability to plan, organize, train, and supervise program and event volunteers
6.     Recruits, trains, and coordinates church members serving in the children’s and youth ministry
7.     Engage in the body of believers at Midway Baptist by being involved in weekly Bible Study, Corporate Worship, and supporting the vision and mission of the leadership at Midway Baptist.
8.     Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor
