- Lead and serve the churches of the MTSBC by casting vision, facilitating collaboration, and strengthening gospel-centered ministry across Montana
- Champion evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, especially in rural and frontier contexts
- Build strong partnerships with national SBC entities (NAMB, IMB), state conventions (e.g., Missouri Baptist Convention), and sister churches
- Encourage and equip pastors, staff, and church leaders through relational support and strategic resources
- Represent the MTSBC with excellence across the SBC network
- Oversee the budget, staff leadership, strategic planning, and ministry operations of the Convention
- Work in cooperation with the MTSBC Executive Board and Administrative Team
- Promote prayer, unity, and biblical faithfulness in all aspects of leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in local church ministry and/or denominational leadership
- Graduate-level theological education (preferably an M.Div. or equivalent)
- Alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
- Strong relational, communication, and team-building skills
- Experience in leading staff, managing organizational resources, and partnering with diverse ministry contexts
- A heart for rural and frontier ministry
- A spirit of humility, integrity, and Christlike character
