Children’s Minister/Director Part Time

Purpose: To provide weekly leadership, planning, and administrative oversight of the church’s ministries to children from birth through fifth grade, in partnership with volunteers and the Children’s Ministry Committee.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Weekly Programming
  • Plan and oversee Sundays and Wednesdays children’s ministry.
  • Prepare or select curriculum and teaching materials. 
• Volunteer Development
  • Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to serve in all children’s ministry areas.
  • Ensure compliance with child safety and protection policies.
• Event Coordination
  • Coordinate seasonal outreach events
  • Lead planning meetings and communicate expectations clearly to teams for events.
• Administrative Duties
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, volunteer rosters, and child safety forms.
  • Track ministry expenses for children’s programming while working in conjunction with the Associate Pastor.
• Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Associate Pastor for direction and accountability.
  • Partner with the Children’s Ministry Committee to evaluate and improve programming.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Personal faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of spiritual maturity.
• Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
• Experience in children’s ministry leadership.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively under pastoral supervision.
• Minimum high school diploma and or relevant college education preferred.

RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports to Associate Pastor for daily supervision and ministry alignment.
• Active participant of the ministries of Mt. Carmel, both through service and being taught.
• Ultimately accountable to the Personnel Committee for compliance with church’s policies, job description adherence, and annual evaluation.
• Partners with the Children’s Ministry Committee and other ministry teams.
• Provides direction to children’s ministry volunteers.

SALARY

• $15,000-$20,000/yr based on experience and qualification
